What does
Hematology deal with?
Hematology deals with diseases of the blood-forming and lymphatic organs. This includes blood clotting disorders: bleeding disorders and increased clotting tendency, thrombosis predisposition. The diagnosis and treatment of malignant conditions, such as leukemias and lymphomas, are also the responsibility of the hematologist. Recurrent spontaneous miscarriages often have hematological causes.
We welcome patients who have received abnormal blood test results during a screening test, whose cause of anemia is unclear; who want to know if they have an increased risk of thrombosis, or how long they need to take anticoagulant medication after deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism.
When should you visit hematology?
When these symptoms are noticed, it’s important to identify the cause-and-effect relationship as soon as possible. According to current medical science, most hematological diseases can be cured with early detection and proper treatment.
